Discoconchoecia

It seems I will be doing plankton illustrations now 

This is Discoconchoecia elegans - a species of a planktonic seed shrimp (ostracod - kind of crustacean). My M.Sc. thesis was about these creatures, so I decided to make this pic for my supervisor, as a thank you gift 

I used one of my own photos as a reference.

Tools: Soft pastels and pastel pencils on navy blue paper (A4 size)
